Having an Only Child

Having a child can be an exciting time in a couple's life. Some couples even plan to have more than one after they decide they are ready for another, but there are other couples who also decide to just have one child. It is more normal in present times to see people with only one child, but there are many different opinions that people have about couples with one child.

People choose to have an only child for many reasons. For example, it is easier to handle financially. It is also easier to give the child more attention than to have two children who are always fighting for the attention of the parents. Another reason why it is better to have an only child is because it is a little bit easier to get things that they want for special occasions. Another advantage that an only child has is that they have more trust and may have more freedom than children with siblings would have.

Although there are couples who only want one child, there are others who think differently about only children. Some think that an only child will grow up to be selfish and lonely rather than smart and more loving. People also think that an only child would not really know how to act around other people. Another final reason why people think that an only child would not be a good idea for them is because the child would not learn from the many experiences that they could have if they had siblings.
